The Rockhopper II high quality production printer offers a wide application versatility : outdoor poster printing, banners, long-term backlit signage, building and construction announcements, vehicle graphics, durable indoor graphics, POS displays, … Apart from outdoor applications, Rockhopper II printers are also an excellent choice for durable photo-realistic prints for indoor use. For motorized unwinding and winding of roll media, Mutoh has developed several options, enabling the user to configure the Rockhopper II “à la carte”, in accordance with his particular application needs.
These roll options range from a winder 30 targeted as short-run printing jobs, to an unwinder / winder 100 specifically for users frequently using heavier media rolls(>30kg), heavy media types (>250 g/m²),media types which are difficult to unwind/wind due to static electricity or sticky coating, or slippery media types. The three different Rockhopper II models (50”, 64” & 87”), equipped with a new set of 360 nozzles/colour piezo-electric drop-on-demand inkjet heads, combine high speed and high quality printing, with top speeds of more than 35 m² per hour. Incorporating 8 colour channels, the Rockhopper II printers are set up for both 6- and 4-colour printing. For photo tone output printing, Mutoh offers a 6-colour (CMYK, light cyan & light magenta) Eco-Solvent Plus ink set. Ink comes in 220 ml smart-chip ink cassettes.
For high speed, the user can load 2 x 4 CMYK Eco-Solvent Plus ink sets, offering 440 ml ink autonomy per colour and the possibility to double the machine’s speed. Mutoh’s Eco-Solvent Plus inks are suited for printing on both specially developed Eco-Solvent-tuned media and a selection of low-cost self-adhesive PVC and scrim banner media. The Rockhopper Eco-Solvent Plus inks offer a wider colour gamut, resulting in crisp, clean and photo-realistic prints.
