Dream Direct Wake Up To GMG Proofing Solution

Dream Direct, the UK’s leading home shopping retailer of nostalgic, leisure and entertainment based products targeted at the over 50’s market, has invested in an in house proofing system from Fastek Graphic Services

Dream Direct
needed a solution that would give them confidence that the colours and content for their portfolio of titles would be replicated from design through to print. Specifically, part of each catalogue is printed gravure and the rest is printed on a litho press at various Polestar locations throughout the UK. Following a period of consultation with Barry Singleton and Ron Curwen of Fastek, Dream Direct chose a configuration of Epson Stylus Pro 4800, GMG ColorProof 2Up, Eye One Spectrophotometer and GMG 250gsm Satin Proofing Paper.

Matthew Taberner, Director of Creative, Dream Direct,
says, “bringing colour proofing in-house is saving us a considerable amount of money and giving us much improved quality control. Fastek have proved excellent business partners with a genuine, no-nonsense emphasis on customer service.”

Barry Singleton, Sales/Marketing Manager, Fastek Group
says, “we listened to the needs of Dream Direct and I do hope that our advice will help Dream Direct to have confidence in the quality of the proofs the system produces and their printers ability to match on press. Our company is primarily a service based organization and I do believe that all of our clients benefit from the speed and effectiveness of our response to any issue relating to their large format digital print
